Patient Access

Prior Auth Abandonment

Instances where patients discontinue or delay care because of prior authorization friction, documented as a driver of poor outcomes and non-adherence.

What it means

This is one of the more serious downstream effects of prior auth friction — patients simply give up on pursuing a treatment or medication rather than navigate a delayed or denied authorization. It's a strong data point for making the human case for automation.
